As a self trained SEO, my experience has demonstrated that it helps if you use the link contextually. Avoid a page with lots of your favorite links, rather put the link in relevant content within your page.

So if you want to share a link or submit a link for consideration, it is important that it be contextual. The link, the page and the part of the page needs to be on a specific keyword focused topic. If you do this it will benefit you as well as well as your visitor.

Why? It provides value for your visitors.

Question…But won’t this cost me traffic? That depends on a number of considerations. If that is a concern, open the link in a new window. Some reports indicate that many visitors do not like this.

A simple principle will guide your success in life. Help everyone else get what they want and you will get what you want.
