Sun Spot

One of a series of sun paintings of impressionistic flowery landscapes. It is an acrylic painting on canvas from 2005.

Measuring 12 inches wide by 36 inches high, it depicts a sunny day in green and orange.

It is ready to hang gallery wrapped canvas with the image going around the sides.

Inspiration for Painting

The wonderful response from the Sun Day painting was part of the inspiration for this painting. I wanted to capture a number of bright sunny days in my artworks.

I wanted to experiment in some new color combinations.

A second aspect of the inspiration was the potential location the painting will rest in.

It was painted to be a bright cheery beacon for the viewer. Perhaps it will hang near the kitchen to greet the morning serving of breakfast. Perhaps it’s home will be a narrow wall where it will smile on those who pass by.

I have to say, a third aspect or inspiration was Florida and the many a beautiful day in the sun spent there on vacation, visiting friends and family.
